With a killer king fu riff opening the track, 'Entertainment' is the fun return of PHOENIX and guess what? Now there's a video! Lets take a look shall we?
The funny thing about listening to bands whose first language isn't English, is that sometimes their lyrics can be a bit strange. Some words have been added in the wrong places and you can hear their accents creeping through the vocals of the track.
It always makes me giggle, but it also kind of intrigues me. PHOENIX are a band who come, not from a land down under, but one with one of the richest histories in the world: France. Since I mentioned before about the accents and what not, you would expect to find a French accent hidden singing throughout their tracks like '1901' and 'Liztomania', but you don't.
PHOENIX dropped off the radar after their last album Wolfgang Armadus Phoenix was released. Indie rockers the world over fell in love with the chill out sound that were made with that steady drum beat and those twangy guitars. Recently the band have stepped out of the shadow to announce a new album, and release their new single 'Entertainment'.

The new track and LP have been a long time coming however with their hiatus suddenly broken, 'Entertainment' has proved that the wait was well worth it. With the king fu riff opening the track, 'Entertainment' is the fun return of PHOENIX and guess what? Now there's a video! Lets take a look shall we...
Set in different eras of China, the video of 'Entertainment' surrounds various love stories that star the same actors. Patrick Daughters directs the video and the colour and beautiful landscapes kind of take over.
