MOUNT KIMBIE pair up with neo-soul singer, KING KRULE for the track 'You Took Your Time'. They sure didn't take their time releasing the official music video.
"In a more equal society, the suburbs wouldn't be places you have to leave" are the words director Marcus Soderlund (who has also directed THE XX's 'VCR') use to describe the suburban angst of the video. The video features the grey-barren landscapes of suburban London and the half-frowns of the middle class stragglers.
It is all filmed in black-and-white and follows a variety of characters as they escape the suburban trap and wander the empty road to find freedom. The video is extremely effective and even the shot of the burning car somehow seems normal in this context.
