Live Review: WATCH: Miike Snow 'Pretender' (Official Video)

Miike Snow's latest video features an Andreas Nilsson-created character Jean Noel tripping serious balls during the band's performance at Hard Festival

If you’re gearing up for festival season and you’ve taken pause to wonder what you look like by the time you get to the after-party of your choosing, look no further than the new video from MIIKE SNOW, in which you can watch Andreas Nilsson-created character Jean Noel trip some serious balls during the Miike Snow performance at Los Angeles’ Hard Festival.

Director Vern Moen has taken up the torch for the unfortunate Jean Noel, a character you’d remember from the ‘Paddling Out’ vid (and every music video the band has released since). It’s the saga of the world’s unluckiest man:

Jean Noel has been abducted by aliens, brutally mutilated, returned to Earth in time to find he no longer has a home, and worst of all these misfortunes, he has no one to buy him a kebab by the time he starts lovingly caressing stranger’s faces mid-gig.

If a part of you is wondering what the deeper meaning to the story’s arc might be, the band recently mentioned in an interview, “we wouldn’t say we were explicitly going for a message”.
