On the precipice of their self-titled debut EP’s official vinyl release (set for October 31st), HWLS have joined Australian cornerstone label Future Classic.
It only seems fitting, considering how much buzz HWLS have been garnering in the industry of late: in September they flexed their mixing skills for BBC Radio 1’s Diplo + Friends, curating a mix for the electronic powerhouse; last month they took on their debut Bigsound showcase.
Fans of their sound – which has been compared to acts like Rustie and Cashmere Cat – are no doubt excited to see them bring their unique bass-heavy, trance-inducing brand of electronica to the label’s vast array of Australian tastemakers and musical trendsetters.
To celebrate the momentous occasion, Future Classic have released a video for the EP’s conclusive track, ‘004’. The clip, directed by Toby & Pete – who are probably best known for their work with Flume and VIVID LIVE in Sydney) – is hypnotic and laden with dynamic textures.
