If there's anything we've learnt about LA label GODMODE, it's that their strongest skill is finding and honing in on the 'next big thing'. According to their site, they find left of centre artists and bring them closer to the centre, and find more centred artists and take them closer to the left. Essentially, they're all about tapping as much potential as they can out of artists that they're really feeling.
Their current roster boasts the likes of YAEJI, SHAMIR, AARON CHILDS and now a huge newcomer, CHANNEL TRES.
Channel Tres grew up bouncing between Compton and Lynwood. His music is characterised by his booming baritone vocals, minimal, classic Detroit house and a penchant for auspiciously crafting damn catchy tracks.
His debut comes in the form of 'Controller' and has already been receiving love worldwide from the likes of Complex, BBC Radio 1 and more. The track is taken from his forthcoming debut EP due out in the near future.

He's dropped a clip to accompany the track too, and if you thought the single was teeming with good vibes, wait until you check out the video.
The cinematography is simple, colourful and paints an imagery of LA that works cohesively with the vibe built up by the track. Channel Tres is no doubt a master of his smooth baritone appeal, but it's the way he effortlessly sings along to the track in the clip that I think solidifies this as a single you won't be forgetting about anytime soon.
He makes it look so damn easy, and I think that's this whole project's appeal. It's minimal in its delivery but creating something this infectious would most definitely take a long time. It feels like he's been honing his sound for a while, and if 'Controller' is any indication of where this project is headed, bring on the EP.
