Like BANKS and other smooth operators, BLACK ATLASS has the power to entice you with his voice and his simple, yet so damn sweet melodies and his track 'Jewels' is the best example of that.
Having a simple cowbell and brooding synths, 'Jewels' has a melody that is both tame and rebellious as it sounds like an emotion you might feel after doing something dangerously naughty. BLACK ATLASS' own vocals lay lightly over the melody and it just seems to welcome you into his world of R'n'B-influenced pieces. The man is simply a genius and with a great track like this of course you'll need an equally enthralling music video.
The music clip brings together textured props with kaleidoscopic visuals and makes for a wild-looking video. You may feel like you're in some sort of strange jungle whilst your watching it but director Yoann Lemoine says, "I wanted to question the limits of incarnation, of organic versus digital, creating a piece that was equally beautiful and intense. Equally organic and digital." You can see the digital elements integrating with the natural pieces and the innovative nature of the video is truly amazing.
'Jewels' is featured on BLACK ATLASS' Young Bloods EP which you can check out pretty much anywhere if you feel so inclined.
