The Haunted Man is this woman's third LP. The cover art displays her holding the corpse of a man she just killed, because she's a fucking badass. And this track, 'Laura', one of our peeks into what we can hope from the full-length, is beautiful. It really is. That's the word to describe the song. Listen to her earth-shattering vocals- we're talking about the sheer breadth of her range, from low and earthy tones to lovely soprano. Just try to not feel touched.
The video shows Khan in all her bob-cut glory singing and gesturing and staring deep in your eyes like you've oft fantasised. She seems to be singing about Laura, a trans woman, who we see struggling with her own unusual identity. They dance together beneath low-lighting in a theatre, and it's really quite sweet.
