ROCKY's 'ASAP MOB' have been around for quite a while now and are set to release a compilation dropping early next year. Although two of their members have become quite well-known for their solo work, the rest of the crew are set to emerge in their own right throughout 2014. 'Trillmatic' is their latest joint effort.
It's is a pretty chilled-out track with ASAP NAST basically holding the reigns. You see the rest of the gang hanging out with NAST throughout the clip but nobody else does any verses except for WU TANG alumni METHOD MAN.
'Trillmatic' brings the entire ASAP MOB together for a very 90's inspired clip with hallway walks and general car park hangs. The video was released on the group's Youtube channel and the shots of the crew together show a friendship that is basically the glue of the team.
The bass line is possesses a solid groove, the riff is very simple but it still stands out from the track's melody. 'Trillmatic' is definitely a track that embraces simplicity. There isn't an overabundance of special production tricks or over-layering, there's just a simple beat and some simple lyrics that work well together.
