Album Review: Vitalic - Voyager

StarHalf Star

"Voyager is an idealess record that has "contractually obliged" written all over it."

Vitalic's latest shiny revision of electro-rave hasn't aged well despite not having been around for too long.

Everything here sounds rehashed; nothing has the energy or verve of early singles such as La Rock 01 or My Friend Dario. Its few plus points production-wise are immediately nullified by outdated, flashy effects and naff vocoders. Worse yet is the badly judged, dead-eyed guest vocals with unapologetic nonsense lyrics about things like waiting for the stars to collide. Voyager is an idealess record that has "contractually obliged" written all over it.
