"Everything is not as it seems with the newest release from Useless Eaters."

Everything is not as it seems with the newest release from Useless Eaters.

The title track is a strange narcotic, leaning into glam-rock dirge while including an opening sax skronk and clear xylophone chimes throughout. There is an Antipodean colouring too — the synth buzzing in Breathing Smear is decidedly Ausmuteants, while a Total Control disdain infiltrates Car Accident Face (Mikey Young mastered the tracks). There are even hints of Devo licking at the heels of Poison Dart. Seth Sutton's proclivity for sci-fi permeates Temporary Mutilation, and finally the noise catches up.
