Album Review: Tim Crossey & His Adult Contemporaries - Super Agonistes

"Crossey and co never drive the point home, and the result is kind of flat and indistinguishable."

Tim Crossey & His Adult Contemporaries come out with some Aussie, croon-laden country/soft-rock.

There's plenty to like on Super Agonistes — the guitar jingles, the lyrics are clever and the drums kick. The problem here is that — apart from Tough Guy, which should be mandatory listening for anyone headed to their first rural pub — Crossey and co never drive the point home, and the result is kind of flat and indistinguishable. Nothing stands out and by the time closer Wastin' Too Much Time rolls around to liven things up you realise you've daydreamed most of the album away.
