Album Review: T:dy T:wns - sistercity

Too many confectioners spoil the sweeties on the debut long player from a Melbourne collective sounding like a hippie van not sure whether to take the road marked ‘Architecture In Helsinki’ or ‘Os Mutantes’.

Ambitious as it is to feature different guest vocalists on each track, giving some fresh skews on girlie kitch-pop, few songs land the potential sugar rushes. If Let Go’s screechy guitars or the unfocused Young Lover are the jelly-tots that tastes like washing-up liquid, there are the creamy Bare Chested Boys and Sweet Fantasy to be gobbled up.
