Album Review: The Used - Live And Acoustic At The Palace

1 April 2016 | 4:19 pm | Mark Beresford

"Some acoustic records can translate into a reinvention of tracks, bringing a comprehensive new sound, this one doesn't quite achieve that mark."

More The Used More The Used

Recorded in November of last year, Live And Acoustic At The Palace is a career retrospective acoustic performance with storytelling insight.

While some acoustic records can translate into a reinvention of tracks, bringing a comprehensive new sound, this one doesn't quite achieve that mark. The Bird & The Worm, Paralyzed and Overdose make the transition well with a matured Bert McCracken vocal, bolstered strings and powerful backing choir. The majority of tracks still feel awkwardly strained as they try to flesh out songs that need to be played with aggressive vigour in order to connect.
