Canadian folk-rockers The Franklin Electric are sinking those smooth, dulcet crooners into us again.
It's what they did so well on last year's debut This Is How I Let You Down and there's more of the same soulful goodness to love in Blue Ceilings, where lead warbler Jon Matte's silky pipes are once again the star. It's on tracks like Save Yourself that the man shines, letting droning lines play out before his lamentations shine unaffected. Musically there's alt-country twangs and frolicking motifs throughout, and lyrics highlight the lyricist's nous.
