Tei ShiTei Shi’s latest EP is difficult to define.
At times pulsating and at others dreamy, Verde transports you to Tei Shi’s future and lets you soak up the sweet atmosphere, enticing you to get completely lost in the New York-based Argentinean singer’s world. She’s clearly filling the breathy pop gap Grimes hasn’t touched over the last couple of years, evident on Go Slow, but don’t get the comparison twisted – Tei Shi is original. This deserves repeat listens, especially EP opener, Can’t Be Sure, which slithers and thumps its way into your eardrums. Sensual stuff.
