Make him your last appointment for the evening and you’ll be golden.

There are a few big-name comedians who are so prevalent on the likes of the Comedy Channel that it's easy to feel like you've seen them live despite never having done so. If Stephen K. Amos is such a comedian for yourself, rectify this immediately. The Spokesman is hilarious – a combination of brilliant comedic writing, deft thinking-on-feet and some too-good crowd interaction. It's loosely based around the idea that Amos feels uncomfortable with being considered a spokesman for the gay community, but this is no plot-driven show, and nor does it need to be. Amos has built a fruitful career as a stand-up comic, and he does it very, very well. However, a word of warning: don't buy tickets for any shows immediately after his if you're planning on going. Amos has no qualms about running overtime, which is unfortunate when most comedians with subsequent shows have no qualms about turning away latecomers. Make him your last appointment for the evening and you'll be golden.
