'It’s Hard To Push Back The Fear': Jay Watson Steps Into The Light As GUM

Live Review: Snakehips ft. Sinead Harnett ‘Days With You’

Absolutely stunning in its prowess, ‘Days With You’ is the latest collaborative offering from UK duo Snakehips and singer Sinead Harnett

Absolutely stunning in its prowess, ‘Days With You’ is the latest collaborative offering from UK duo SNAKEHIPS and singer SINEAD HARNETT.

Following in the footsteps of the likes of UK giants DISCLOSURE and RUDIMENTAL, it’s safe to say SNAKEHIPS are absolutely owning their own brand of electronic music. There are elements of everything here. Hip-hop inspired beats, soulful vocals, jazzy synths and that ever-present tinge of sassy funk and classic dance. I guess in all, it’s just a refreshing pop song that really is everything but a pop song.

Strings, chimes and jazzy xylophone-like sounds lead us into the song. Soulful RnB inspired backup vocals bring forth the verse, and it’s the minimal instrumentals in the chorus that bring forth the power in SINEAD HARNETT’s voice.

The chorus becomes almost sublime, celebrating the zeitgeist of modern dance. It feels almost euphoric, particularly as the sounds are paired with the masterfully written and performed vocals from SINEAD HARNETTSNAKEHIPS have built a track that is the embodiment of modern music in more ways than one.

‘Days With You’ is a sunny celebration, and will leave you wanting to press play again and again.
