Album Review: Sixx:AM - Prayers For The Damned: Volume 1

20 April 2016 | 2:27 pm | Bryget Chrisfield

Warning: secure mask to keep your face in place before the When We Were Gods chorus strikes.

Before bassist Nikki Sixx smashed the final nail into Motley Crue's coffin, he'd already recorded two new Sixx:AM records with his buddies James Michael (frontman) and DJ Ashba (guitar solos that weep!).

Lead single Rise channels Muse: dense riffs, exultant vocals. True to Sixx:AM's trademark duality, darkness is never devoid of hope (except Everything Went To Hell, which is just plain bleak). Warning: secure mask to keep your face in place before the When We Were Gods chorus strikes. Volume 2 will drop later this year. Sixx:AM clearly buzz off each other's virtuosity. RIP Motley Crue (*mops up tears*). Long live Sixx:AM.
