"Like attending a lifeless family Christmas party no one wants to be at."
Does the world need another Christmas album? Apparently yes... it's the gift that keeps on giving.
Sia's Everyday Is Christmas is like attending a lifeless family Christmas party no one wants to be at. Santa's Coming For Us starts off a little flat, before bubbly pop tune Candy Cane Lane rings in and things get a little better. Snowman and Snowflake hit the snooze button with their slow ballad style, while Ho Ho Ho puts the kids right to sleep so the adults can raid the rum.
There is nothing wrong with Sia's vocals — they are amazing, quirky and unique. However, the tracks just have none of the celebration or excitement normal Christmas songs do. Even when she hits all the right notes on the title track, Everyday Is Christmas is joyless.
Without being a Grinch, Sia's Christmas album is a cheerless disappointment.
