Condescending? We’re reminded of this at every opportunity on his 18th solo album, particularly on the title track which name checks as many songs as possible sounding as forced as your average Madlib. Most of these postcards try too hard to be recognised as the kind of big band Vegas ballroom classics Billy Joel and Elton John have perfected but fall way short of being memorable. Starr continues to be a follower, not a leader. Still a lovely bloke, though.
