It's been a long slog for German metallers Rage.
These three bearded gents have been kicking around since 1984, so there's no denying the passion. After such a career it's easy to pick and pull apart the hits and misses; mercifully The Devil Strikes Again sits somewhere near-ish a hit. While there's fury galore in rampant guitars and Peter 'Peavy' Wagner's whisky-stained rasp, there's a bit too much of the same thing going on from the title track to The Dark Side Of The Sun. Break it up a bit with some varying pace and attitudes. But it's pretty hard not to get barrelled on by the anthemic My Way, the OTT War and the power ballad-ish Times Of Darkness.
