"...evoke[s] images of elfin magic and dark fir woods in winter. Absolutely delicious."

It's almost as if Billie Lindahl is casting a dark spell through her sensuous alt-folk debut as Promise & The Monster.

Feed The Fire draws on a wisp of First Aid Kit in the vocals and a touch of Fleet Foxes in her lilting chords, tambourine and snow-covered tones. Lindahl's airy voice can make a few songs forgettable and blur into the consciousness of the album, but stand out tracks like Machines and the eerie, night-time tones of Julingvallen — which calls forth a lilting hum in place of lyrics — evoke images of elfin magic and dark fir woods in winter. Absolutely delicious.
