Hailing from Sheffield, Pjaro have produced a three-track EP bookended by a sonic maelstrom, with a slow-burning number lying buried within.
Both Passed Out, Covered In Drugs and Goodnight Sweet Prince are frenetic razor-wire abandon and melodic math mechanics, with immolation imminent (whether it be in the tell-tale lyrics “When you look in the mirror, do you smile?” of the former or the distorted explosion that closes the latter). But it’s the eight-minute Car2003, with its drunk-in-a-pub field recordings and coalescing, amped-up American Football (the band) leanings, that truly impresses.
