It may not have been a ROFL performance but the audience left light-hearted and appreciative of an everyday fella.

More Peter Helliar More Peter Helliar

Australian lad Peter Helliar has come far since first making his name on Rove Live many moons ago. Now he is known for his alter ego “Strauchanie”, his daily appearance on Network Ten's The Project and the staring, scripting and production of his own movie I Love You Too. His own show Whatevs (…Forevs) at the Perth International Comedy Festival proved why Helliar has become a loved Australian personality.  The Astor Theatre was packed full with an array of people who laughed uncontrollably to the relatable skits about the modern day lingo of SOZ, TOMOZ and YOLO, the generational gaps in technology and impersonations of the Dalai Lama. The show affirmed how Helliar really is a genuine Australian bloke as he shared stories about his family, the difficulties of being a parent and personal embarrassing Doctor visits. It may not have been a ROFL performance but the audience left light-hearted and appreciative of an everyday fella.
