"They do a solid enough job that all of this influence aping is totally fine"
Very “English” and very familiar with their guitar-fuelled indie jangle with odd spikes of funk or dance, Peace don’t offer anything new with Happy People.
These are songs you’ve heard before from plenty of other bands: a dab of The Stone Roses here, a little of The Beatles at their drugged-out worst there, a hint of terrible, white-guy reggae, even a touch of Vampire Weekend to keep their derivativeness at least a little current. But they do a solid enough job that all of this influence aping is totally fine… if you like those original bands, that is.
