From Eddie Izzard banging on about throwing ice creams at Nazis to the famous Monty Python skit about spam, the realm of the absurd has been explored and exploited by no small handful of comedians throughout the ages. In response, Paul Foot throws up a "Hold my beer..." in his new 2017 show 'Tis A Pity She's A Piglet.
He wasted no time at all in utterly lambasting Perth for its lack of anything to do, anywhere, exclaiming that "With this exciting atmosphere, it could almost be a Tuesday!"
Though there was a completely deliberate lack of structure to anything Foot did or said on stage, each "bit of humour" was introduced and subsequently concluded very politely: "and that is the end of that bit of humour".
Nonsensical violence against toy monkeys and forced audience participation felt like curveballs, even for a Paul Foot show, but - drenched in such absurdity that it made the most risque Fringe show look like a tea party - the laughs were plentiful and hearty.
His quirky stage presence and mischievous unpredictability kept the audience fixated on his every move, and while he's no Louis CK, he's undoubtedly the most unique and refreshing of Britain's comedic exports.
