Papillon

Despite displays of genitalia and songs of cunnilingus, Papillon is never trashy, always sassy and brings a super-sexy cheekiness to Fringe World.

The inspiring capacity of the human body combined with unabashed, unadulterated entertainment is the reason Vaudeville lives. Light hearted and uncomplicated, Papillon dodges banality with bouts of self-mockery and sarcasm.

In a venue smaller that one might expect for acrobatics and balancing stunts, The Pink Flamingo makes for an intimate setting. No doubt a bigger venue would allow for bigger and better stunts, but as is the nature of man; always wanting more – more danger, more stunts, more contempt of gravity.

The intimate venue fosters the development of the real highlight. With their cool charisma, the chemistry of the cast is captivating, beckoning audiences to become involved. Not in an obvious 'sit on your face' kind of way, but a subtle 'lets be friends' familiarity. The refined yet seemingly organic performances by what can only be described as seasoned professionals are magnetic yet humble. Even in mid air, the performers are grounded enough to not take themselves too seriously, always taking the time to mock the ridiculousness of their circus personas.
