"Of course everyone's talking about the ominous and damaged vibes of the collaboration with Iggy Pop."
Winning this year's Cannes Soundtrack Award has brought Oneohtrix Point Never's first soundtrack much acclaim and plenty of attention.
Of course, everyone's talking about the ominous and damaged vibes of the collaboration with Iggy Pop. At times the arpeggiated synths and moody atmospherics give this album the lustrous feel that featured on the type of soundtracks Tangerine Dream produced many years ago. Danger lurks in the margins with a kind of '80s B-movie feel as we a manoeuvre through New York's underworld. The jangle of tangled synths on The Acid Hits and the wobbly synth solos of Leaving The Park are nuggets to be savoured.
