From a prominent mandolin to a hint of a drum machine, this EP of clear-eyed exuberance doesn't overdo the instrumentation but showcases the impressive indie/folk/Americana capabilities of Oh Pep!, aka Melbourne multi-talents Olivia Hally and Pep Emmerichs.
Living kicks off with the rollicking The Race, and segues to the beautifully melancholic build-up of Rest Assured. War Song is robust — and dare I say — Celtic-influenced. Finishing on the tad too long Tea, Milk & Honey, the lyrics hit close to home: "I've been worrying about it/Don't you get it, I've been fretting/I'll talk about it with my best friend." Impressive and lovely.
