"A solid set of ultra-high energy, jumping and singing."
By 10pm, the fun kicked off and the venue was anything but sleepy. Hobart band Chase City took to the stage, setting the feel for things to come and getting the audience warmed up and freely practicing their dance moves. As always, the boys had fun on stage and this was infectious. With a good mix of originals and a few covers, the vibes were right for a good night.
Polish Club were up next and continued the theme of fun and freaky dance moves. In no time at all the room was full and moving was getting tricky. Beer was split and front-and-centre spots snapped up before you could wriggle your way in.
Before Northeast Party House even took to the stage it was a matter of weighing up whether it would be worth heading out for a smoke and losing your spot or staying put and going without. When the band took to the stage, sharing sweat with strangers was a grim reality although no one seemed to mind in the slightest. Everyone in the audience came with the mindset of crazy boogying and crazy boogie they did. Any free spots on the dancefloor were taken up by arms and legs swinging around and bodies jumping. Northeast Party House's collective stage presence was rad. Starting the set off with surefire party track, Any Given Weekend, things continued to get crazier. Halfway through the set came a track from their new album Dare and the audience loved it. A solid set of ultra-high energy, jumping and singing got us bonding with strangers in the crowd and dancing like no one else was in the room.
To keep the energy pumping and the mood high, there was little conversation between songs but Northeast Party House were more than happy to chat, sign and take photos after the set. Anyone who attended will tell you the same thing, if you get a chance to see Northeast Party House in action, do it.
