Album Review: Night Moves - Pennied Days

"It's got some good and then great moments."

The latest album from Minneapolis' Night Moves covers a range of pop influences starting with George Harrison all the way through to The Verve, Phoenix and Foxygen.

It's got some good and then great moments, the latter includes Kind Luck and Leave Your Light On. Despite the confusing quote from band member John Pelant ("A lot of the songs are about trying to find yourself and what your future will look like and who you are — life overall") in the accompanying blurb, which then goes on to admit the band has few hobbies outside of music excepting "drinking, wasting time, talking about life, girls and partying", the album is actually very, very good.
