Album Review: Neil Diamond - Melody Road

From simple, stripped-back acoustic guitar, to lush orchestration, to some gentle rock, Diamond uses Melody Road to showcase just how much is in his musical arsenal. While the title track might ease things in, it’s not long before he gets a little loose. This is one 73 year old who isn’t letting age get in the way. Sure, no one would call this a rock album, but it has an energy and the groove of a much younger man. Melody Road is the work of someone with plenty of laurels, refusing to rest on any of them.
