Album Review: Motez - The Vibe

StarStarStarHalf Star

"Still quite undeniably catchy."

More Motez Motez

For the Baghdad-born, now Adelaide-based DJ and producer, Motez has managed to continually evolve with the Australian electronic music landscape.

The Vibe EP has since become relative proof of that, with hard-hitting, bass-heavy, certified club-ready bangers Down Like This (featuring fellow Adelaidean Tkay Maidza) and the luscious, uplifting Like You featuring Sydney's own Wax Motif. As radio and club edits of the first and last track off the EP, The Vibe is a just a little repetitive, and borders more along the lines of electro-house — but is still quite undeniably catchy.
