More Moaning Lisa More Moaning Lisa

If you’re a fan of Sleater-Kinney and Wolf Alice, you’ll probably like Canberra-based rockers Moaning Lisa, whose sound falls somewhere in between the two. On their new EP Do You Know Enough?, the four-piece tap into alternative-rock, punk and shoegaze elements to deliver an album of strong, relatable lyrics and brilliant songwriting.

Lead single Carrie (I Want A Girl), an homage to Sleater-Kinney member, Portlandia star and general icon Carrie Brownstein was the first to put the group on many people's radar. Definitely the release's heaviest song, the track has Moaning Lisa proclaiming that they want a girl like Syd, Kim Deal, Courtney Barnett or Florence Welch over the sounds of crashing drums and loud guitars.

Love song Good takes a hazy, shoegaze approach while Lily is a building, heart-breaking rock ballad with great vocals. Comfortable is a rare, sweet song about single life and Sun is an epic explosion of sound - a climactic ending to the consistently strong EP.

Do You Know Enough? demonstrates Moaning Lisa’s strong musicianship and a keen knack for songwriting, leaving the listener wanting more.
