Melbourne wizz, LANKS recorded his live interpretation of MO's, 'Waste Of Time'.
As opposed to original releases, you experience a different kind of excitement when discovering reinterpretations of songs created by your favourite acts. You gain insight into their tastes, whilst simultaneously exploring a different dimension to their craft. Moments before heading out to catch MØ last week, Melbourne talent, LANKS beautifully covered the Scandinavian's single, 'Waste Of Time'.
Blotting out the traffic formulated in the original, LANKS approaches 'Waste Of Time' with just his guitar and a loop station. A rather intimate display, the exposure of gentle guitar sequences overlay each other in utter vulnerability; their nakedness highlighted be a lack of differing background. Twinkling delicately in their cosmic energies, the charm of these fluttery guitar fairies is heightened by the variation of LANKS' vocal capacity.
Crafting a breathtaking delight, LANKS' rendition of MØ's, 'Waste Of Time' is as refreshing as it is powerful, which isn't bad for a product of improvisation.
