Fringe: Arabesque

23 September 2014 | 12:10 pm | Evan Young

Despite the size limitations of the venue, there is a lot going on. Dancers perform dressed as glowing, futuristic Disney princesses alongside a litter of giant art installations, with a catalogue of DJs, lasers and projections providing the scenery for this curious amalgamation of the traditional and the ultra-modern.

At times however you get the feeling Arabesque maybe wants a little too much to do something different and unique, which ultimately sees the event fall a little flat, the night seeming more like a themed club night than a Fringe event.

La Di Da, Melbourne Fringe Festival.
