Phantom Radio is a darkly glittering, almost gothic album that delivers some disturbing lyrical imagery and brooding atmospherics. Lanegan continues experimenting with synth pop and strangely The Killing Season feels like Royksopp soundtracking the mind of a serial killer. It’s the heartfelt emotion of I Am The Wolf, the solid rock stomp of Harvest Home and Lanegan’s worldweary croon that deal most satisfaction. A welcome addition.
