Album Review: Little Cub - Loveless

"With more imagination these boys could have fleshed out their obvious knack for songwriting."

London trio Little Cub have reined together a suave collection of songs and edits for Loveless.

But while their electro pop-rock is neatly packaged for the ears, Loveless leaves one feeling like more could have done for their first foray on Domino. Dominic Gore does have a nice drawl amid crunchy synths and crisp beats on the title track, but it takes a distorted downturn for the Wake Up Jack edit. The sparse and repetitive Breathing Space doesn't quite scratch the itch either, nor its two edits. It's a shame, because with more imagination these boys could have fleshed out their obvious knack for songwriting.
