Willow Beats have released a new single that has a dark backstory.
If you're a fan of the organic and sultry sounds of WILLOW BEATS, then we have some good news for you! The duo have released a new single called 'Chess' and it's pure bliss in music form.
The track is featured on their new EP Water and has an exotic influence that you can clearly hear as the synths punch out from within the melody.
'Chess' still embodies the natural elements of WILLOW BEATS music. the water droplets, the cropped vocals of Kalyani Mumtaz and some airy melodies that sound like something you'd hear if the wind could talk. WILLOW BEATS have always been the earthlings that could create something so uniquely beautiful with their music and chess does just that, with some added extras.

The melody holding 'Chess' together is slightly faster than what we'd usually hear from WILLOW BEATS. Kalyani says the track explores the idea of war and you can hear that as the track drifts from light and energetic sections into dark and simplistic sections as the track rolls on. If you listen closely, you can hear the sound of shattered glass. The sample was recorded by the duo and chopped into an intense sample that seems to be the defining trait of the tracks story. It shows something is broken and war has always been the moment where humanity seems like it has shattered.
You'll be able to listen to 'Chess' and the entire Water EP live when WILLOW BEATS head out on tour throughout December. Dates are below and the duo have collected some pretty great supports so the show will of course be entrancing.
