Featuring a high-pitched verse and the "ba ba bas" we've come to love from THEE OH SEES, this new track from their upcoming album Putrifiers II has us dancing on our office chairs. Or at the very least, wiggling back in forth in them. 'Flood's New Light' is a short and sweet song. No time for the heavy distortion we've come to expect, no time for any divergent guitar solos. It's almost disappointing not to have a huge instrumental to glaze out to. But alas.
The track at least remains as catchy as ever with the kind of chords and hectic pacing we crave when picking up an Oh Sees album. The falsetto sound of John Dwyer's verse vocals is very reminiscent of the new Tame Impala stuff, although with a more melodic psychedelic twist.
