Live Review: LISTEN: The-Dream ‘IV Play’

THE-DREAM (real name Terius Nash) has never been one to beat around the bush but on this the IVth single (1,2,3) off the forthcoming album of the same name

THE-DREAM (real name Terius Nash) has never been one to beat around the bush but on this the IVth single (1,2,3) off the forthcoming album of the same name, he finally admits that he ‘can give a fuck about the foreplay, I want it now/I’m talking straight sex, stop fucking around’.

He ‘doesn’t want to lose a second with you’ so he recycled the drum pattern from his 2007 track 'Falsetto' and litters the rest of the track with soaring guitars, a multitude of throbbing synths, auto-tuned pillow talk, twinkling harp? and any other production trick Nash somehow manages to squeeze into all of his maximalist r’n’b slow jams.

It’s been almost 3 years since his last proper release (discounting the fantastic ‘1977’ that he released under his real name) and in the meantime he’s written a couple of huge tracks for others, so hopes are high that the new record, dropping May 28th can live up to expectations.
