Live Review: Thandi Phoenix 'Come Around'

After seeing her own it on the Red Bull Academy Stage at Splendour in the Grass this week, we're encouraging you get around the soulful THANDI PHOENIX.

After seeing her absolutely own it on the Red Bull Academy Stage at Splendour in the Grass this week, we're encouraging you get around the soulful THANDI PHOENIX and her new track 'Come Around'.

First jumping onto the scene in 2014, this talented Sydney lady is quickly grabbing attention within the Aus music spectrum. Originally receiving kudos from producing head honcho Ta-Ku with a collaboration on his, Songs To Break Up To, as well as being a featured vocalist on the EPs of Coin Banks and a collab with B Wise on the track 'Judgement', Thandis indelible talent hasn't gone unnoticed.

Packing something raw and magnetic, her new track 'Come Around' released by Motto Beat Records marries the perfect blend of folk/soul with 2 step electronica. The delicate, husky vocals of Thandi echo over an electronic base that pounds straight through to your heart.

After a trip to Africa last year, Thandi returned to Australia with a new found burning desire to step up to the plate and refine her sound and process. This new approach to music making is incredibly evident in 'Come Around', with lyrics that are mature and will resonate deep inside of you.

We'd say it's safe to say that this funk princess is the next big thing on the soultronica scene in Australia. With music that is enchanting and powerful, her EP in the mix seems to be ever so promising!

'Come Around' is available for purchase on iTunes.
