Live Review: Taka Perry enlists Ned Philpot for RnB jam 'Move It On'

With his newest track premiering on Nest HQ, TAKA PERRY is quickly rising to new heights with his incredibly perceptive exploration of RnB as a genre.

Enlisting the help of NED PHILPOT for his latest jam, 'Move It On,' the two explore new understandings of the genre that emerge to be fresh and original. It's grounding in the sense that it's recognisably RnB, but the way Taka's played with the production in this one, it really changes up the flow.

Opening with a beat that really gets you moving, it's the chorus that makes this one incredibly electronic. By modulating the pitch and pairing this with vocoded melodies from Ned, this one moves from the RnB realm to somewhere in between that and electronic dance.

It's one that's constantly shifting, and when it hits the bridge, it reaches its peak mood. Opening with an incredibly rhythmic bridge from Ned, it then goes into this epic guitar solo that really does the job of solidifying that this is one incredibly clever single.
