SYDE have proven themselves to be an act worth keeping both eyes firmly planted on recently. Following on from their breakout hit in 2017, 'Orbit', their second single, 'Above The Clouds', saw the duo really start to make moves, separating themselves from the constant onslaught of bedroom producers with an undeniable edge. Denying pop and electronic conventions, the pair quickly established a signature "SYDE" sound, and given 'Above The Clouds' is currently sitting at a cool 6 million streams on Spotify while their debut has cleared 13 million, it's fair to say that the people have well and truly spoken.
Before SYDE release any more fresh music, they're sharing a brand new remix of 'Above The Clouds' this week, and we have bee lucky enough to nab the Australian premiere of the track. Getting Dutch producer JENGI on board, the acoustic elements have been swapped out for throbbing beats. Stepping away from the MILKY CHANCE influences, Jengi flips 'Above The Clouds' on its head and thrusts it well and truly into the electronic realm.
Splicing up the vocals and amping up the atmospherics, enhancing the track with futuristic synths and laying down some shifting percussion, Jengi shows a different side to SYDE that deserved to be explored. With the duo gearing up for more music out this year, we can't wait to hear what's next!
