!!! are back and they've got a track to prove it. We bring you 'Slyd' - a track that is to feature on the upcoming LP 'THR!!!ER'.

!!! SLYD

They’re baaaaack! For those of you who don’t know, !!!, pronounced by repeating any one-syllable percussive sound three times (e.g. and most commonly know as "chk chk chk"), formed in 1996 after the demise of the Yah Mos; while on tour, members of that post-hardcore act envisioned forming a band oriented toward danceable music.

So once they returned back to their base in California, they turned that concept into an actual group existing of 8 members. Fast forward to now and they are on the verge of releasing their 5th album titled THR!!!ER, and if their first track ‘Slyd’ is anything to go by – you better get your funk pants ready.

‘Slyd’ is a return to the apex of their collective powers as it stands out as a tribute to ‘sample-based club-floor classics’ but with the signature !!! craftiness. Rather than go through the process of clearing samples, they decided to craft their own “samples” and pack them into a pumping, never dull assemble. Additional vocals are supplied by singer Teresa Eggers + !!! singer Nic Offer’s former Out Hud bandmate Molly Schnick.

"I don’t really like you, but I like you on the inside" its snide female vocal, epitomising the primal urges of clubbers worldwide in just the one solitary sentence as they employ relative minimalism to produce maximum impact.

And the end result? ‘Slyd’ is one sexy, infectious jam.

THR!!!ER comes out April 30 via Warp Records.
