In the few days left until the release of SCHOOLBOY Q's highly anticipated album 'Oxymoron' the LA-native has dropped a brand new cut from the upcoming record entitled 'Blind Threats' featuring none other than the legendary WU-TANG CLAN member RAEKWON. Grab your bucket hat for this one.
Arriving at a little over a years time as a follow up to his 2012 album 'Habits & Contradictions' SCHOOLBOY Q is going from strength to strength with each track he releases in the lead up to 'Oxymoron'. Now with his latest track 'Blind Threats' featuring the prolific microphone assassin from Staten Island (aka Shaolin), RAEKWON, SCHOOLBOY's momentum is stronger than ever.
Boasting a humble and unique sound that is becoming known as the Q trademark, blending golden era hip-hop sampling techniques with nu-school beats and crisp percussions, 'Blind Threats' is a stellar example of Q's hypnotic take on contemporary hip-hop, both instrumentally and lyrically.
Centred around a smooth and mesmerising jazz fusion sample filled with floating guitars and bright vibraphone musings, the melodies create an apt background for both Q & RAEKWON. Treading the line between silken and sinister, the beat and instrumental creates an almost narcotic tone - perfect for the rapper (even though he has quit sippin' dat lean).
SCHOOLBOY Q's upcoming album 'Oxymoron' is set to be released worldwide on 25th Feb 2014. Only a few more sleeps, kids!
