Live Review: LISTEN: Scenic 'Ride The Thrill'

Scenic have released a brand new track whilst they get ready to play this year's Laneway festival.

Described as "dream pop with dancefloor oomph", SCENIC have something fantastically unique to bring to the table with their new single 'Ride The Thrill'.

A great melody that at first, reminds you of THE SMITHS' iconic single 'How Soon Is Now?' echoes through this piece until you are taken in by the swooping synths and drooping samples that the entire track together. The echoing vocal definitely takes you into a place where you can't help but feel like you're in some sort of dream.

The psychedelic influences here definitely break the surface and create a wonderful skeleton for the synths and digital elements to overlay. There may be a hell of a lot going on in 'Ride The Thrill', but at least SCENIC know how to take a deep look at every note to make sure that everything is doing exactly what it should.

SCENIC will be performing on the St Jerome's Laneway Festival tour later in the month. 'Ride The Thrill' is also available to download from iTunes for free as the single of the week, so if you love it, get in quick!
