Isn't it just the best feeling when an original track you love and adore gets remixed, and you fall in love with that version too?
That's exactly what producer XO has done to Brighton musician Salute's new track 'Diamond (Gold Rush)'.
Rather than focusing too much on sticking to the original, XO's given a funky new spin on this one that gives the Seinfeld theme a good run for its money.
With a bass that's slapped so hard it almost ripples through the track and a heap of psyched out synths warping below the main melody, it's an incredibly catchy number, that's for sure. The vocals are distorted in such a way that it feels like you're listening from beneath the water, but I think that's the appeal of this one.
With a beat that's largely instigated by synth progressions and an almost dissonant direction, it's a crafty number with a keen eye for rhythmic precision and a great sense of difference.
If you'd heard Salute's version already, you'd know how special this track truly is, but it's cool to see XO give it a breath of life in an entirely new direction.
