Ryan Hemsworth's new track 'Heavenly' is sweet and dirty at the same time, like a Postal Service song remixed by XXYYXX.

Producer RYAN HEMSWORTH (not related to Thor) is a Purple Sneakers fave and an underground sensation thanks to internet releases: charming, optimistic productions, “bass-heavy” hip-hop samplings and powerhouse remixes of acts like GRIMES, FRANK OCEAN, LANA DEL REY and CAT POWER.

His latest offering is streaming via Mixmag, and it’s sweet and dirty at the same time, like a POSTAL SERVICE song remixed by XXYYXX, a “naughty schoolgirl” costume, or drinking eight Smirnoff Double Blacks in a row.

'Perfectly' has plenty of shimmery, twinkling noises and underwater vocals to satisfy your inner hipster but amongst that there’s substance and meaningful experimentation, and while Mixmag couldn’t put a genre on the track, bloggers have labelled it anything and everything from dreamwave to garage, even going so far as to give it electronic music’s latest buzz-label: trap.

Perfectly will lead on HEMSWORTH’s upcoming EP, Still Awake, due for release next week through his website. May continues shaping up to be a big month for the Canadian: he begins the European leg of his tour, to play venues like Social Club and Brixton Academy, on May 29th in Copenhagen.
