UK singer-producer debuts warm, soul drenched title track 'Vessel' off his forthcoming EP

UK singer-songwriter RATIONALE delivers soul drenched single 'Vessel,' and it's far from empty. Having recently toured with French pop group BASTILLE, we're pretty excited that he found the time to release new music. 'Vessel' is the title track off his forthcoming EP, and it's an absolute beauty.

Warm electronica tangled in elements of soul, ‘Vessel’ is like a hug for your ears. Rationale's has the unique ability to tie together complex elements with ease and finesse. Opening with the dulcet sound of soul drenched organ that's been gently washed by the subtle twinkles of electronica, the instrumental elements of this track have a distinct 80s nostalgic feel, which work really well in contrast with the more contemporary electronic flourishes.

Deeply rooted in soul, the almost androgynous sounding lead vocal is a real stand out element. Rich mosaic vocal layering is fast emerging as a trademark for Rationale. 'Vessel' ties together a gossamer of vocals, some just subtly humming in the background, while others work in direct harmony with the lead vocal. Light and shade are also crucial elements, each verse builds in its own way, with the vocal drama reaching its pinnacle in the final verse.

If Rationale's lead single is an apt representation of what's to come, we can't wait to get the full Vessel EP in our hot little hands.
